History

Reams Asset Management was established in 1981 as an independent, employee-owned investment management firm. Since the firm’s inception, Reams has managed domestic fixed income portfolios for institutional clients.

Scout Investments, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: UMBF), acquired the assets of Reams Asset Management Company on November 30, 2010. Reams now operates as a division of Scout Investments.

On April 20, 2017, Carillon Tower Advisers (CTA), a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE: RFJ), announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Scout Investments and Reams Asset Management.  The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2017.  There will be no changes to Reams’ investment philosophy, process and team.
